A wide network of partners, an ambitious project to interconnect Italy, Albania and Montenegro through Motorways of the Sea: this is Project PORTS PLUS - Partnership for the promotion of resilient, sustainable and smart transport and logistic activities in the South Adriatic Area , which will be presented on 14th October in Brindisi.
The first workshop of PORTS PLUS project, entitled "Education and Innovation for the Port of the Future", will be held on 14th October, from 09.00 to 16.30, at the SNIM - Brindisi Nautical Show, Conference Hall.
PORTS PLUS takes up the challenges for a future that achieves the new growth plan aimed at transforming the EU into a carbon-free economy by 2050, ports, and, in general, all maritime and logistics activities will be expected to achieve a 90% reduction in transport emissions.
Throughout the workshop, we will discuss the transformations of the future of Italian and Balkan ports, with a focus on projects and best practices put in place by public and private operators to face the double challenge of the green and digital transition. Instead, the second panel will focus on the new skills and new professions, as well as the transformation of higher education institutions and the consequent adaptation of the training change. The afternoon panel will be dedicated to new funding opportunities aimed at supporting the upskilling and reskilling of skills in the field of inter-branch funds and the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programme.
